Week 6 - Testing Results

Week 6 - Testing Results

Hello everyone! Sadly I've been too busy with some uni assignments this week to get a new build finished, however I have been able to make a few new assets in preparation for replacing some temporary ones that are in the game at the moment. Aside from that we also have the results from the testing form I released last week with some great feedback. Here's a summary of a couple of questions from it:

I was expecting more people to be interested in local multiplayer and other gameplay features but was surprised to see that people were most interested in an online mode and level features! Besides from that I also got positive feedback on the aesthetics and controls of the game which is great to hear, and also found that everyone could grasp the controls eventually but still had a little too much trouble moving. It's also possible that some of the results might be influenced by the fact that I haven't had too many people provide feedback through that form and that some crucial gameplay features like AI are still missing, but I have found the feedback I've received so far to be extremely useful anyway.

Future things I plan on implementing based on the feedback I received include a font that mores appropriately matches the game's style, improving movement through increased friction on player's feet (and more technical tweaks related to movement), and considering to explore online play more seriously in the future. Once again, thanks to everyone for providing feedback.

At the moment I'm still working on getting player turning implemented properly and soon you should expect to see more polished visuals and audio in the game in the next build. Seeing as this game was for my Games Fundamentals unit and this is the last devlog required, I might take a break from working on this game for a while and change the schedule for new builds and devlogs, but I definitely want to finish this game in the future. See you later!
