Week 3 - Win Conditions
Week 3 - Win Conditions
New Features: Win Conditions, Restart Button, Adaptive Camera, Basic Visuals, Parallax
With this update I think it's starting to look like a proper game! Win conditions have been fixed and are working properly as well as a rematch button to bring back your opponent for another bout. No longer are our combatants in an empty blue and green void as now they finally have a nice mountainside and some grass to enjoy while they kill each other. Another great new feature is a camera which follows both of the combatants around so they don't just slip out of view (and off the world), as well as a parallax effect on each of the background elements. Here's a gif showing it all in action:
At the moment the visuals are all placeholders that I plan on replacing with my own art, so credit to MraveniskoDev for the ground sprites and PWL for the background elements. You can find links to them here:

This weeks feedback does have a very valid point which is that there's not much point moving around when you've got a gun, so I'll definitely be looking into implementing a stage at the start of the round where each person paces from the centre, although with how our duellists' joints work, that might be a little difficult.
What you can expect next week are some proper gentlemen replacing our test dummies that we have at the moment, as well as some sound effects for bullets, getting hit and UI elements. If I have some more time after that I'll work on a wound and dismemberment system as well as seeing if we can motivate our duellists to move back 10 paces before they start killing each other. See you next week!
